I am an associate member of the Australian Radix Body Centered Psychotherapy Association and also of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association.
About my approach
My approach to healing and wellness has been influenced by studies in a number of western and complementary therapies. These include:
- Psychology – Bachelor of Science (Psychology), Australian National University, 2002-2006
- Radix Body Centered Psychotherapy – Australian Radix Training Centre, 2008, 2013, 2014
- Healing through the body and energy field – practitioner training – Elwood Centre for Wellbeing (George Gintilas), 2010
What has always interested me about healing is what works, and this has drawn me towards approaches which can assist the client to access and transform whatever it is which is causing problems. My approach is relevant to a broad variety of life challenges, but at present I am focussing on the holistic treatment of conditions such as:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Limiting behaviours or feeling states
- Chronic pain (e.g. fibromyalgia, RSI, back pain, neck pain)
- Chronic fatigue
- Relationship challenges
Phrasing it in the positive, I am offering this approach to support the emergence of greater peace, happiness and wellbeing in ones life, whether it be in work, relationships or home life. And from my own experience I know this work delivers profound experiences of peace, transformation and wellness.
Broad though my studies may have been, the most compelling reason to consider me as a practitioner is the fact that I have committed deeply to my own journey of healing and creative unfolding. I am able to hold an effective space for clients’ journeys through the darkness of their own shadow, because I have worked honestly and consistently at transforming my own shadow.
I have called my approach ‘mind-body healing’ because I like to draw from techniques which understand and use the interrelatedness of mind and body to maximum beneficial effect. In any given session a unique combination of talking, meditative awareness, visualisation and physical expression of feeling is used to cultivate transformation and deep wellbeing.
If you are currently being treated by a medical doctor I look forwards to creating a good working relationship with them as part of the therapeutic process. Please note that if you have a chronic pain or another challenging condition you should exclude other serious diagnoses by working with your doctor.

"Since I've started seeing Hal, I've quit drinking and smoking, gone off my antidepressants, stopped feeling shy, dramatically improved my relationships with my partner and with my mother, and largely gotten over my RSI issues.
Its been a transformational few months. I have to give credit to myself and to a course that I'm doing at the moment as well, but seeing Hal has really helped me get in touch with my emotions and given me the capacity to deal with life, rather than avoiding ... >>read more >>
"Seeing Hal changed my life. After 4 years of strong chronic pain I now experience minimal pain and have no restrictions in doing all the activities I love in life. Here is my story.
I initially developed RSI type pain in my wrists from typing and computer use while writing up my PhD. It manifested as strong pain right through both my wrists whenever I typed or used my wrists for normal activities. It eventually got so bad ... >>read more >>
